OUR SPANISH MUSTANGS
Spanish Mustangs are direct descendants from the Spanish horses brought to the Americas in the late 1400's.  Today, there are approximately 2000 registered in the United States, placing them on the "critical" list (nearly endangered).

These horses are gentle, hardy and extremely intelligent. Because their bloodlines have not been tampered with, you will see an amazing array of colors, including very rare colors such as Grulla and Red Velvet Duns.

Currently herds of Spanish Mustangs roam in preservation herds in the Dakotas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Wyoming.

ALL OF OUR SPANISH MUSTANGS ARE AVAILABLE FOR SPONSORSHIP.

 RIP Beautiful Mama Mustang!

So many humans let you down yet your heart remained full of love.
Just a little over 10 years ago, beautiful Mama Mustang (a branded BLM mare) became part of our family.  We rescued her from a rescue.  She came to us heavy in foal, our first pregnant mare on the ranch. Three weeks after joining us, she delivered a huge bay foal - our sweet Cheyenne.
From the moment we met her, she had a spirit of quiet strength, which you could glimpse through her beautiful brown eyes. Not once did Mama ask or demand anything. She simply took each day as it came and expected nothing in return. She possessed a wisdom that is as old as the Nevada Hills that she came from...she will forever remain in our heart!
Mama Mustang, we know as you now join the Ranch Critters already in heaven you are guiding their path up the beautiful mountains you came from !
We already miss you Mama !! We were blessed that your herd could be by your side as you pass on !!
Thanks for teaching us so much !!

In February of 2013 we undertook the biggest rescue endeavor in our history .....

13 Mustang mares with foals on the ground and 5 mares that were pregnant at the time of rescue.....

It was a tremendous leap of faith for Ranch Critters ....

We were  able to find homes for many of these wonderful animals. Some lived out their lives here and are forever in our heart.  Some still live here, 10 years later, loved and cared for members of the Ranch Critters family.... we always welcome anyone who would want to be a sponsor  !!!!
